Oracle Fusion/Cloud Work Area

It is a smart UX design concept “Make it easier for the user is core motive behind this” . A work area comprises the complete set of tasks, searches, reports, embedded analytics, and other related content of the business process that a user needs to accomplish a business goal. The scoping a work area starts with identifying a set of user roles and tasks related to business processes intended to complete in the certain work area. The primary criterion for combining tasks into a single work area is that users should not have to navigate back and forth among multiple work areas to accomplish a particular business process.
The Role to the function/task mapping concept makes it easy. If Timekeeper wants to review/audit the timesheet using a report and wants to correct those then both access are available in same work area it would be easy for the user.

Example, a timekeeper task of auditing a timesheet, change the cost allocation, verifying paycheck etc. is a daily business activity is centered on accomplishing the same. These are functionally different tasks, each might be placed in a different work area; however, this would require the timekeeper to switch among multiple work areas to perform their business activities. By integrated these task into a single work area to streamline users' work which accomplishes a business goal quicker with pleasant application experience.

Oracle Fusion/Cloud Data loading Techniques

The different available ways of developing inbound integrations to Oracle Fusion HCM?

  1. Payroll Batch Loader
  2. HCM Data Loader
  3. HCM File-Based Loader
  4. HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader

  • What is Payroll Batch Loader?
  • What is HCM data Loader?
  • What is HCM File based loader?
  • What is HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader?
The payroll batch loader is used initial migration or mass payroll data entry with predefined batch loader, predefined processes, and web services. The best use if you different time and labor and absence system you can use payroll batch loader to pull the time card data to HCM fusion payroll.
In Payroll system specifically for North American payroll if you are going live in between of the calendar year and converting from another system to Oracle Fusion HCM fusion, its much required and critical task to convert initial earning, deduction, tax balance for each employee before you start to process the payroll. You can use Payroll batch loader

The most used method HCM Data Loader to load data in bulk from any source to Oracle Fusion HCM.  The HCM Data Loader for data migration can be used for one-time bulk loads, or ongoing data maintenance. HCM Data Loader supports incremental or partial data loading. The method suitable for loading:
-    Complex, hierarchical data
-    Large volumes of data, such as complete system extracts
-    Object history

The benefits of HCM data loader, it supports for the following.
-    HCM data loader provides user keys for integration-enabled objects.
-    Source key
-    User key
-    Oracle Fusion surrogate ID
-    Oracle Fusion GUID (Globally Unique Identifier)
-    Objects from many HCM products: - HCM Data Loader provides a template file for each supported business object hierarchy, which you can use as the basis for your own data files. You generate template files in the Data Exchange work area in the cloud.
-    Configured descriptive and extensible flex field data, translation data, tree hierarchies, person images, and document of record attachments.
The best part of the HCM Data Loader is, it provides a comprehensive user interface for starting data upload, monitoring progress, and reviewing errors. Using web services is the best option to automate data loading.

The Oracle Fusion HCM File-Based Loader helps to load data in bulk, including business object history, from any data source to Oracle Fusion HCM. File-Based Loader uses the Oracle Fusion HCM load batch data process to load your source data to the Oracle Fusion application tables. The File-Based Loader is best for an initial data upload and ongoing maintenance of the data in Oracle Fusion application.  The maintenance typical activity of file based loader are:
•    To upload changed data periodically if you're continuing to maintain the source data example Additional Pay in Payroll.
•    To perform periodic batch-loading of objects such as new bulk configuration objects like a list of institution address which changes periodically.
The file based loader supports following areas of Oracle Fusion HCM cloud
•    Oracle Fusion Coexistence for HCM
•    Oracle Fusion Enterprise Structures Configurator (ESC)
•    Oracle Fusion HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader

The loading process is simple, Import data in Object-specific batch, prepare data for loading stage tables and Load the data from stage to fusion application tables.
In release 11, 28 business objects are supported by file based loader.

HCM spreadsheet based loader is MS-Excel utility provide by Oracle and referred as Oracle ADF Desktop Integration. You need to install this utility to use file based loader. Most commonly used for Absence, compensation, person, assignment and talent business object. The Oracle fusion provides many spreadsheet loaders for specific business object load.

Commonly you need to first create the spreadsheet on the page where you manage the object, second, Load the objects directly to the application tables, finally, correct any errors in the spreadsheet.

Oracle Fusion Cloud means what?
Over the past decade, few of you must have been involve in talk and discussions regarding Oracle Fusion application or Oracle fusion cloud and many companies, client, techies struggle to understand what exactly this means. Essentially “Fusion” refers to Oracle’s Cloud infrastructure (“Fusion” Middleware). The architecture which supports cloud design of application. More recently, Oracle has focused communications, client and partner awareness on the business process value and business use of these applications and now refers to these as applications and underlying technology simply as “Cloud” since fusion support SaaS architecture.
Over the decade Oracle has invested heavily in Fusion middleware and applications and this is one of the biggest areas of growth for the company at the movement.

Fusion Architectural design:  Oracle Fusion applications (all applications pillars), were developed from the ground up using standards-based Fusion middleware components. These components and industry standard programming languages include Java, SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), BPM (Business Process Management), BI (Business Intelligence) and more.  Fusion applications including HCM, sits on top of these powerful middleware components and leverages all of the reporting, analytical, security and database functionality they offer. In Fusion the extensibility is a another important future or phase in implementation fusion which gives you a design is the ability to ‘extend’ the user experience with your organization’s specific functional requirements.  Clients have the ability to create enhanced user interfaces, reports, dashboards, etc.…without modifying the delivered application objects.  The ability to ‘extend’ your Fusion application is achieved within the application and middleware components.

Functionality:  Still a long way to go but a few of the core objectives in developing Fusion applications and HCM were a focus on best-in-class business processes and enhanced user experience.  The roles-based approach to Fusion functionality truly engages employees, managers and HR professionals.  Embedded intelligence and analytics within the delivered Fusion HCM application provide need-to-know information for defined roles within an organization. A centralized ‘Person Management’ user interface gives HR professionals the ability to maintain employees’ personal, employment, compensation, payroll, absence information and more.  The overall user experience was designed around the way people truly work, which increases overall productivity.

Current Fusion offerings within the HCM for client to choose:
1. Co-existence - Fusion Talent Management Base Cloud Service: Fusion HCM is designed to ‘co-exist’ with existing Oracle Applications Unlimited products including PeopleSoft, E-Business Suite and JD Edwards. For example, customers can take advantage of an existing PeopleSoft HCM install and leverage the Fusion Talent Management as a SaaS offering in the cloud.  Delivered integrations with Fusion HCM make these co-existence scenarios possible without lengthy development and implementation projects.
2. Full Cloud - Fusion Human Capital Management Base Cloud Service
3. Recruiting and On Boarding - Taleo Platform Cloud Service
Implementation/Deployment Flexibility:  Fusion Application can be installed in three ways
1    1. On premise
2    2. Hosted by Oracle Cloud as a service (SaaS)
      3. In a private cloud or a hybrid approach
